REMEMBER TO VOTE ON MAY 19, 2026

Politicians love to say they support law enforcement during election season. Truthfully, almost everybody says it — and in politics, words can sometimes lose their meaning.

I could sit here and list all the reasons law enforcement matters to me. I serve as Chairman of the Alabama Law Enforcement Appreciation Foundation, and I’m an auxiliary member of the Fraternal Order of Police. I also have family members who have dedicated their lives to law enforcement, including a retired Anniston police officer who was shot in the line of duty and a current SWAT member with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.

But at the end of the day, actions matter more than words.

What means the most to me is not simply being able to say I support law enforcement — it’s being able to say law enforcement supports me.

Former Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade and recently retired Oxford Police Chief Bill Partridge have both given me their endorsement. These are two men who have spent decades serving and protecting our communities. They are respected leaders who have seen me work, know my character, and understand my commitment to this county.

Their support means more to me than I can put into words.

In a world where everyone claims to support law enforcement, not everyone can say law enforcement supports them in return.

To every law enforcement officer who has supported and encouraged me — thank you. And a special thank you to Sheriff Wade and Chief Partridge for their trust and endorsement.

I look forward to continuing to serve this community as your County Commissioner.

Vote Tobi Burt for County Commission on May 19th.

“May my actions and my words always be the same.”
