Calhoun County isn’t just where I live — it’s home.

It’s where I grew up, where I built my business, and where I’ve spent my life raising a family and working alongside people I respect. For more than two decades, I’ve been fortunate to build roads, infrastructure, and projects across this county. But the most meaningful work I’ve done has been serving the people who live here.

For the past 14 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Calhoun County Board of Education. Every year, I’ve donated my board salary back to our schools and used it to create the Tobi Burt Career Ready Scholarship because I believe deeply in investing in our kids. When we invest in them, we invest in the future of our county.

Public service has never been about titles for me. It’s about responsibility.
I believe in giving back, not taking away. That’s why I’ve made the decision not to accept campaign donations. I’ve been blessed in this life, and I believe service should reflect gratitude — not personal gain.

I’m running for the Calhoun County Commission because I want to keep doing what I’ve always done: working, building, solving problems, and helping our communities move forward. I’m not interested in the status quo. I believe Calhoun County’s best days are ahead of us if we continue to invest wisely, work together, and take care of the people who call this place home.
This county has given me everything.

Serving it is simply my way of giving something back.
