I want to take a moment to acknowledge the verdict in the case of Chris Westmoreland, who was found guilty.
What stood out to me most throughout this process was the level of professionalism, dedication, and care shown by those involved in the investigation and prosecution. From the investigators to the District Attorney’s Office, it was clear that this case was handled with the seriousness it deserved.
Having the opportunity to witness this case firsthand is something I will never forget. Seeing these professionals advocate for animals — giving them a voice when they cannot speak for themselves — was both powerful and deeply impactful.
Their work reflects a commitment not only to justice, but to compassion. Cases like this are difficult, but they matter, and I am grateful for the time, effort, and integrity that went into ensuring accountability.
This verdict sends a clear message that cruelty will not be tolerated, and that those who cannot defend themselves are still protected under the law.
